The Devotion That Guides Us
Brahmashri Mayavaram Krishna Sastrigal
Vidya Paramaguru · A devoted servant of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham
The Trust’s heritage of devotion reaches back to Brahmashri Mayavaram Krishna Sastrigal, the maternal grandfather of Brahmashri Subbaraman Mama and a devoted servant of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.
A revered scholar of the Vedas, he was honoured as the Veda Paramaguru of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, guiding him in his purvashrama as a young Vedic brahmachari, before the Swamigal ascended the Acharya Peetham.
His life of service to the Peetham — seen in the 1935 photograph performing abhishekam to the Kanchi Mahaperiyava at Kolkata — remains a guiding light for the work of Veda Rakshanam, and an enduring reminder of the lineage of devotion the Trust seeks to honour and continue.

The Trust remembers with deep reverence Brahmashri Subbaraman Mama, whose lifelong devotion to the cause of Veda Rakshanam continues to inspire its work. A man of quiet dedication, he gave himself wholly to the protection of the Vedas and to the service of the Acharyas of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.
